Savage Garden by Lee Hyeon Sook

12 Jun

After the controversial Flowers of Evil , I am soooo eager to read Savage Garden. The title implies wild beastly behaviour and maybe some more incestous relationships?! Probably???!  *eyes gleam*

Turns out it’s  NOT. It’s about a girl Gabriel who impersonates her dead friend’s identity to study in a prestigious boys school where it’s filled with brats, not one, but lots of them. It’s your typical gender bender story with the usual yaoiness and love confusion thrown in here and there. There are some hot scenes in the first few volumes,  between Gabriel and one of the brothers – Euan.  I wish her identity was discovered by Euan and figured how disastrous it would be for Euan to discover his usual taste turns out to be a girl. Hahaha.

Thanks to JanimeS, I get to read this series.  Its enjoyable in the beginning but ends up flat on your face. Am disappointed with the ending or maybe I’m just bias.  It’s as if the mangaka rushed through the ending, probably another new series in the making ? Hopefully.

Haru No Katami by Chitose Hajime

26 May

One of my personal favourites. This ED is jussstttt so perfect to be the ED of Bake Neko (one of the 3 spooky stories) in the anime Ayakashi Japanese Horror, befitting this tragic story. Every time I listen to this song, I’m so immersed in her voice. The way she sings is just totally special.

On a side note, out of the 3 stories, Bake Neko is very unique in itself, a different kind of animation is used which gives it a more colourful  and rich background.  I’m not good at describing the animation but the preview of it can be seen in this ED.

p.s. Haru No Katami appears at the end of each Ayakashi episode, but it suits Bake Neko ending best.

Kurobara Alice by Setona Mizushiro

4 May

Being a Setona sensei’s fan, I always watch out for her new series.  Kurobara Alice has a good combination of romance, tragedy, vampires and weirdo factors. It’s about a group of vampires dying to breed and looking for the perfect mate.  The setting of the story begins in old English era and moves to modern Tokyo, how Dimitri the main lead, and his troop looks for their partner.  The whole mating process is not the usual vampire ‘i bite you and you become one’ ,  it’s actually much more interesting although can be kind of confusing in the beginning.

I just hope the ending for this series don’t turn out of this world as her Nightmare After School (another strange series) left me feeling  kind of disappointed. I just had so high hopes for this series, especially when the story and artwork has greatly improved from her earlier series.  You can check out the series at Aerandrias. Its thanks to them that I read the 1st chapter and is totally hooked!

Celine

4 May

In the sea of guccis, pradas and louis vuittons bags, this brand Celine is hardly seen around. Is it the simple and plain design that discourages one from spending too much in a Celine?

Well, the latest spring summer 2011 bags collection definitely do catch my eyes, especially this bag. It’s beautiful, light, almost so light that you question whether it will sag after putting a laptop and other stuff in it? Will it?

In the meantime, I’m settling for this hard-to-find gorgeous mustard yellow colour block iPhone case that comes in lux lambskin. Just don’t ask me what am I going to do with it when I change my iPhone alright?

Old Manga

6 Mar

Hmm..just when I feel like writing something, WordPress is slow. What a bummer >.<

My love for manga has not waned yet…Looking back, it’s been almost 5 years since I first watched my first anime Inuyasha (sailormoon isn’t counted since it did not kick off any addicition) and started seriously reading Bleach. Now, after such a long span, I’ve actually accumulated quite a number of series and am wondering what to do with them, esp. since i’ve outgrown them – Naruto, Bleach, Deathnote Tactics, Vampire Knight, Koukou Debut to name a few. They took up so much of my space tat i’ve got to sell or get rid of them at one point. There goes my savings *poof*

And those i am still holding on includes Nana. Urghh..when is Yazawa sensei going to recover?  I do wonder what is she down with, does anyone else has a clue? Nana may be one of those unfortuncate series that is on hiatus for a longest time. Either I’ve not been reading enough shoujo but I can’t find any series that is angst and more adult enough. Yaoi series, yes, quite a number but definetely not shoujo.  And did I mention why I’m such a sucker for Nana? Yes.. that’s the reason.

Manga Sites on Hiatus

16 Sep

Am depressed..a few of my favourite shoujo and yaoi sites seem to have gone on hiatus or closing down forever.  Not sure whether is it this that is causing everyone in the not so legal industry to be jittery or whether everyone just happens to grow up and become busy with real life.   I kind of miss getting my daily fixes from them, especially when my favourite series are involved. Ouch.

Babymoon

11 Sep

Should i blog? Edit pictures? Sell my stuff? Watch FMA? So many things to do, so little time left.  And just when I”m about to return to work in less than a week’s time, it just makes me want to grab onto anything that i should have done during my maternity leave.

My babymoon period with my 4 month old is almost over. Weep, Cry, I’m gonna miss the time I spent with her, listening to her ‘ah cooooos’ ‘ah pooooos’ ‘wahhhhhh’. Meh >.<

Manga – For Sale!

16 Aug

Time to part away with some manga which I know I’ve outgrown them.  Need to make space for new series although having a bookcase of 3/4 filled with manga never fail to give puzzling looks on relatives and friends who visited my home. Hohoho…the worst and neverending complaint would be from my mum.

Anyway, here’s the list. Note they are mostly in CHINESE, mainly published by Tongli or Chuangyi, unless stated otherwise. They are already listed in ebay and I think I’m able to ship overseas, but do leave a message here to enquire about overseas rates and more details as payment is by Paypal only. Will update more pictures and manga later on.

Animax

13 Aug

The coolest thing that has ever happened on TV recently is the free sceening of Animax to all SCV subscribers.

Animax used to be avaliable to subscribers only.  I  wonder who on earth would pay to watch outdated or maybe childish anime series?  Maybe I’m too old for most series, but Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Inuyasha the Ending is definetely worth watching free (even though we were watching the later episodes).

The boo about having Animax now is the ending of these 2 series which just left a lull in my life . Meh. Hopefully Animax is able to get some good anime soon and what seemed like a gimmick is here to stay for good. *fingers cross*

And yes, this is part of the reason why I’m back here again :p
